FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

A fire extinguisher is an active fire protection device used to extinguish or control small fires, often in emergency situations. It is not intended for use on an out-of-control fire, such as one which has reached the ceiling, endangers the user, or otherwise requires the expertise of a fire brigade.

DCP Fire Extinguishers

Suitable for Class A, B or C fires, or a combination of these types. All extinguishers supplied conform to the minimum fire ratings as specified in SANS 1910:2009.

CO² Fire Extinguishers

Designed for Class C fires, but can also be used for Class B fires. Our top quality SANS 1567:2003 certified carbon dioxide fire extinguishers are cased in steel or aluminium, and are purposefully designed to be easy to use.

Foam Extinguishers

Suitable for Class A or B fires, or a combination of these two types. The stored pressure foam is a high expansion foam.

Fattex Extinguishers

Specially formulated wet chemical to suppress Class F fires, our Fattex fire extinguisher is designed to combat fires resulting from fats and edible oils burning in deep fryers.

DCP Trolley Unit

DCP trolleys are designed to securely store DCP fire extinguishers. Epoxy powder coating paint prevents corrosion on the fire extinguisher trolleys.

CO² Trolley Unit

CO² trolleys are uniquely suited to hold CO² fire extinguishers. It provides the user with effective mobile firefighting alternatives since it can be moved around easily.

FIRE HOSES

A fire hose (or firehose) is a high-pressure hose that carries water or other fire reterdant (such as foam) to a fire to extinguish it. Outdoors, it attaches either to a fire engine or a fire hydrant.

COUPLINGS

Couplings are sets of connection devices that interconnect to additional lengths of fire hose, adapters and other firefighting appliances. Usually made of stainless steel or aluminium, couplings are available in a variety of types and sizes.

Vehicle brackets are securely mounted onto vehicles to transport fire extinguishers safely. They are available in varying sizes and materials, to allow for quick and easy mounting and removal.

Heavy Duty Single Strap

Heavy-duty vehicle brackets with a single strap for safe and secure mounting and transportation of the following fire extinguishers: 4.5kg or 9kg.

Heavy Duty Double Strap

Heavy-duty vehicle brackets with double straps for safe and secure mounting and transportation of the following fire extinguishers: 4.5kg or 9kg.

Light Duty Single Strap

Light-duty vehicle brackets with a single strap for safe and secure mounting and transportation of the following fire extinguishers: 1.5kg or 2.5kg.

Vehicle Brackets

Plastic clip-in vehicle brackets for safe and secure mounting and transportation of the following fire extinguishers: 0.6kg, 1kg, 1.5kg, and 2.5kg.

These are metal or plastic boxes for the safe storage of exit door keys, with a break glass function in case of a fire emergency.

Our approved fire extinguisher cabinet is specifically modified to fit on any truck. The cabinet can house a 9 – 12kg fire extinguisher easily, safely, and securely.

SYMBOLIC SAFETY SIGNS & MISCELLANEOUS

Fire equipment signs are normally rectangular or square and feature a white symbol and text on a red background. Red is used to denote danger and they indicate the location of fire equipment in an emergency situation. Things that are varied or mixed and cannot easily be categorized or grouped. Extinguishing Agents

  • Dry Chemical Powder – The mono ammonium phosphate-based powders are generally for multipurpose use and are suitable for extinguishing Class A, B, and C fires.
  • Foam – Class A foams are mostly used to fight wild fires. They assist in the wetting and saturation of Class A fuels with water, which aids fire suppression and can prevent re-ignition. Class A foams are available for use with Safequip’s range of skid units.

The company has to be registered by SABS & Technicians must be SAQCC qualified Are technicians qualified to service the fire extinguishers? Yes they are SAQCC qualified and registered. All powder (DCP STP) Fire Extinguishers are pressure tested once every 5 years
